BEAR & CELESTE

Oculus Jewelry is the collaboration of printmaker Celeste Lambert and woodworker Bear Kirkpatrick. We took Celeste’s knowledge of color and form, and her interest in jewelry design, and combined them with Bear’s knowledge of woods and metals, to form this unique line of bracelets. We showed them around to some friends and they started to buy them and then their friends started to buy them. So we expanded the designs and experimented with new woods and metals, and now we can bring to you a full line of bracelets that we are proud of and we hope will make you feel good to wear!

We have learned a lot in the past few years. One particular thing we learned was about how wood veneers are made, but more importantly about where they are farmed, and the practiced used to farm them. So, in keeping with our growing concern about the quesitonable provenance of the woods available on the open market, we now make our jewelry from sources that can be traced and with companies that harvest their materials with the approval of either the Forestry Stewardship Council or Alpi, an Italian company that operates in full compliance with international legislation of forest stewardship. We will continue to explore the nature of our materials and look for ways to feel responsible and good about what we make.

CARE & CLEANING

These bracelets are pretty tough. The compounded strength of several layers of veneer, and the durability of stainless steel, insures a long lasting piece. We have a few recommendations, though. We ask that you do not wear them in the shower or swimming or any place they will be submerged.

To clean them we recommend only using a damp cloth. And we ask that you please keep them away from strong cleaning products or chemicals. The stainless steel will not rust or tarnish.

RETURN POLICY

We accept returns for up to 30 days from the date of purchase as long as the bracelet is returned to us in the same shape as you received it. Box it up in the same packing materials in which we sent it to you, and send it to:

Several different methods of shipping are available to you depending on your needs. We will ship the next business day after you place your order, unless we need to make your bracelet, in which case it will be shipped no later than three weeks after you place your order.
